Hi all,
this is my first post in 2017 so firstly I want to say “HAPPY NEW YEAR”. I hope you had warm time with your family and/or friends, relative or so. May this year we can grow more deeper in faith and His Likeness (in unison we say, AMEN). This post is the English version to previously blog titled “C.T.” which is written in my mother tongue, Bahasa Indonesia. Shortly, I wish you enjoy this piece, and be blessed.
Have you ever realized that unconsciously we are haunted by our past? As it might be a lesson for the next level of life, I thought often back as I was in Surabaya in 2014. Spending time with some high school students and Christian workers – who I met first 10 years ago was really once in a lifetime experience for me. Not all might realize how nervous I was, yet the hardest time was all about what I should share with them. God knows my heart until know, as I oft pray the same prayer like that moment “God, what should I tell them?”. It is that moment that God uses every second for His glory that I prayed, God touched someone’s heart at that time.
So, just when I was thinking about my new year’s resolution (already in January 2017), suddenly this theme popped out. “SEEK GOD” is what I am going to write.
Seek God (later only S.G.) should be the first activity of all; seek God may we do wherever we are, whatever circumstances we have only for one reason; it is all by Him, for Him and through Him.
If you struggle now about your family, drug addicted (incl. games, alcohol or pornography, etc), why don’t you seek God for remedy? As you watch someone you love is battling with incurable disease or helpless situation, why don’t we cry to Our Potter and Helper? I can only refer to my own experience as my life got hard, I did my best to run from Him to find my self fell down and cried even harder afterwards. As I came back to my Heavenly Father with all my wounds and unnecessary bruises (and then cried just like every daughter does), it was a relieve and there was a healing throughout the process. There is healing and cure for every bitterness, trauma, crisis, problem and circumstances we are dealing with as we are coming to our Creator. Let me put it this way, our problems are not at all problems for Him; they are tools for our growth in faith. Can a baby walk without falling? No one can rise and walk if he did not stumble first.
In Indonesian version I make an abbreviation of C.T. referring to computertomography. The closest example I can find is then S.G. associated to sonography. Both are imaging modality which is world wide provided and each has its own advantages. Ultrasonography has played a big role in medicine as it is applicable in almost every system. So, just as the doctor will use ultrasonography to find certain pathology, we can seek God every time to diagnose the circumstance we are dealing with. Maybe it was our inferiority we were battling; or it was our faith being purified. The next time maybe He wants us to be more humble, loving or patient as a good example to others. It does not take much to meet Him. Let us humble ourselves before Him, knock the door to meet Him, and ask “Doctor, I need Your help. I seek you, Lord.”. I am sure we will never leave His presence helpless.

There is a season for everything and in every season I will seek You, my God.
